Description
-
Image of Co-op school in Weyburn, Saskatchewan. White building edged in green—paned windows; shingled roof. Sign next to partially obscured vehicle on right-hand side indicates building was (or perhaps was still being used as) a church: “Roger's Chapel" written on top of sign, with "Church of Christ" and service hours listed beneath. Banner with Co-op logo, illustrations of three men and one woman, and the phrase “People with a Purpose” hangs above entrance. “Weyburn Co-op School” written on back of photo in blue ink. Co-operative schools were adult education centres that taught both business management skills and their integral co-operative principles. These institutes merged in 1959 to become the Western Co-operative College.
