A mid-eighteenth century map of North America. The map is an English version of Giles Robert de Vaugondy's map of North America, engraved by George Rollos. Robert de Vaugondy's original map is entitled "Amérique Septentrionale: Dressée sur les Relations les Plus Modernes des Voyageurs et Navigateurs, et Divisée Suivant les Differentes Possessions des Européens". This revised version features a cartouche illustrated with scenes of Native American people and indigenous flora and fauna.

Mid-18th century map of North America. Based on a French map by Jean Baptiste Bourguignon d'Anville. Hand-coloured, Canada and French territories in yellow, Spanish settlements in green, and English Colonies in other colours. Scale: 1:6,500,000. Prime meridians: Ferro and London. Top right corner of the map is missing, cutting out part of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Gulf of St. Laurence. Includes extensive historical treatises outlining the"English Title to their Settlements on the Continent" as well as the "French Incroachments".
