Description
Portrait of Captain John French of the North West Mounted Police. French began working as a member of the NWMP in 1873. During his career French served at various locations across western Canada including Lower Fort Gary beginning in 1873 and Battleford (1880-1881). French was killed at the Battle of Batoche in 1885.
