An event held at Convocation Hall honoring the aboriginal peoples who fought during the Great War, and all aboriginal veterans. The event started with a pipe ceremony outside of the Peter Mackinnon building, followed by a Michif prayer by Norman Fleury and a luncheon. After this, the University community and Saskatoon public were invited to participate in the roundtable discussion hosted by the Office of the Treaty Commissioner. Donnie Parenteau sang songs of tribute to the soldiers before the start of the roundtable, and Chancellor Emeritus Vera Pezer welcomed participants. Georg Lafond (the Saskatchewan Treaty Commissioner) moderated the event. An honour song with hand drum closed the event following the discussion. Many members of the First Nation Veterans Association attended the event. The Gabriel Dumont Institute in provided a loop of Metis soldiers that was projected in the hall and several Metis Elders were present representing families of soldiers.
