Painting of William Dixon in a three-piece suit, bow tie, and pocket watch chains
William Dixon was born in Scotland and came to Ontario in 1856. In 1880 he married Euphemia Reddick. After the death of six of their ten children due to diptheria, the family moved to Indian Head in 1882 to open a boarding house and later homesteaded in 1883 in the Wide Awake District. In 1904 they built a home in town where they lived until their deaths.
